Cape May Marketing Director Earns National Leadership Award

Cape May's marketing director receives a national award for her contributions to the Clinton County community.

Cathy Koerner, who has been with Cape May Retirement Village for 13 years, recently was honored with the Distinguished Leader Award, presented by the Association of Leadership Programs (ALP).

The award recognizes graduates of local leadership programs who better communities through philanthropy.

Koerner is a Leadership Clinton alumnus and served on the board of the Clinton County Leadership Institute. She is active at the institute, in her church and community and with the local Lion's Club.

Neighbors see Koerner at most institute events and the county fair and corn festival. She also coordinates the county's multi-church choir performance and participates in numerous Cuba Friends Meeting events and committees.

Koerner lives in Blanchester with her husband, John. Together, they have three adult daughters.

As Cape May's marketing director, she helps seniors and their families choose the perfect retirement lifestyle -- one centered on quality of life, freedom of choice and spiritual growth.

Earlier this year, Koerner also was recognized locally for her leadership. Click here to read that story.
