Brian Kolenich has been with Ohio Living for 30 years and has demonstrated innovative leadership throughout his tenure. Brian has built close working relationships in Youngstown with the United Way, Youngstown State University and numerous other community organizations.
Brian has actively worked to support and strengthen our key communities. He served on the board of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley from 2011 through 2020 and served as the chair of its Impact Committee. He has served as a co-creator on the organizing committee of TEDx Youngstown, a collaborative of organizations bringing the first TEDx event to the Mahoning Valley. He was a member of the Leadership Mahoning Valley class of 1998. Brian was appointed by the United States Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology to serve on the board of examiners for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award from 2003 to the present and currently serves as a Master Examiner. In addition, he serves as a Judge for the Partnership for Excellence, a Baldrige-based program that serves Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia.
Brian began his career with Ohio Living as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1991 and has served as an executive director for Ohio Living since 2006. Brian has had numerous achievements during his career, most notably his vision to create the Mahoning Valley Lifelong Learning Institute. Made possible by several generous endowments, this Institute continues to benefit residents and the Valley’s older adults with outstanding educational offerings.
