Agape Crossing is our commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care for individuals experiencing memory loss. Located within many of our life plan communities across the state—with more on the way—Agape Crossing reflects our belief in agape: unconditional love, dignity, and respect for every person’s unique journey.
Our memory care neighborhoods are designed to create positive, meaningful engagement and empower individuals with cognitive challenges to live purposeful lives filled with hope.
Supported by more than 25 years of research and field testing, the I’m Still Here® program uses procedural memory techniques, Montessori‑inspired learning, and specialized assessment tools to uncover each person’s strengths and abilities.
This approach utilizes research‑based, non‑pharmacologic methods to help reduce agitation, apathy, aggression, and anxiety—common experiences for individuals living with dementia.
I’m Still Here® combines meaningful activities, specialized communication techniques, and an enriched environment to provide engagement, choice, and true purpose regardless of the level of cognitive challenge. Residents are invited to participate in programs that encourage learning, socialization, and self‑expression. These experiences help increase confidence, strengthen identity, and support emotional well‑being.
I’m Still Here® integrates:
- Meaningful activities — tailored to each resident’s interests and abilities
- Specialized communication - promoting connection, clarity, and comfort
- Enriched environments - supporting independence, choice, and purpose
I’m Still Here® Programs
-
The Discovery Experience
-
Discovery is tailored to the needs of those experiencing mild or early stage memory challenges, as well as residents who enjoy new learning experiences. Clubs, classes and committees that support participants' self-esteem and confidence are central to this program.
-
The Vitality Experience
-
Vitality programs are expertly adapted for individuals experiencing the challenges associated with moderate or mid-stage dementia. Vitality fosters a continued sense of identity, social connection, and self-expression. The vitality experience seeks to enrich the lives of its participants through engagement in creative arts, music, exercise groups and a wide variety of clubs and experiences that provide residents with meaningful social roles.
-
The Serenity Experience
-
Serenity engages participants in a sensory-rich program designed to meet the needs of those in the later stages of memory loss or any resident who might benefit from a less stimulating environment for part of their day. It features individualized therapeutic spa programs as well as cognitively stimulating experiences, such as interactive music and photo viewings aimed at energizing and stimulating reminiscence.

Training and Certification
The designation as an I’m Still Here® Memory Care Center of Excellence is awarded to only a select few organizations each year. To achieve this certification, each organization must participate in an extensive education, training and implementation program.
As a part of the certification process, every staff member working in Agape Crossing, as well as many others in the community, must take part in a six-month on-site dementia education and training curriculum. This program includes education and training in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, communication techniques, and life enrichment.
This training leads to team members who are true dementia specialists and know how to provide those in their care with a life that has purpose, where days are filled with social activities and engaging experiences. It's a life in which they and their families can enjoy meaningful interactions, continue to contribute to their community, and look forward to each new day.
Person-Directed Care
Dementia is only one part of a person’s story. At the core are their remaining abilities, life experiences, and relationships.
Our person‑directed care philosophy means:
- We honor who each resident was before dementia and who they are today.
- We focus on what each person can do, rather than on abilities that have changed.
- Daily life activities—such as eating, bathing, and sleeping—follow each individual’s preferences, not predetermined schedules or caregiver convenience.
This approach supports autonomy, dignity, and a sense of control—key elements of high‑quality memory care.
