At Ohio Living Cape May, our idea of assisted living is as individual as our residents are. Our assisted living offers programs, events, and activities consistent with the residents’ abilities and interests of the residents, with trained caregivers focused on meeting residents’ changing needs and helping them stay as independent as possible.

Ohio Living Cape May is certified by the Ohio Department of Aging to provide basic and memory care services under the Assisted Living Waiver Program. Individuals who are enrolled or are currently enrolling in the Assisted Living Waiver Program are accepted based on availability.

Memory Care

Memory Care apartments are sized to be less overwhelming for residents, while allowing as much personal freedom as possible. Private apartments, as well as dining and living areas, provide for a relaxing and comfortable setting. Staff have been trained with innovative memory care training in order to extend the highest quality of care that caters to residents with dementia.

Ohio Living Cape May Residents

Aging is a major fact of life. You go along and all of a sudden you are no longer able to do the things you have taken for granted. Climbing stairs with ease, lifting a box of books, moving furniture, etc., etc., etc.. I recall that every time I climbed on a mower or shoveled the snow off the driveway, I thought that I wasted another two or three hours of my life. Ohio Living Cape May has solved that minor problem... Not many things are perfect in this life, but Ohio Living, Cape May has proven to be close.

Ohio Living Cape May Resident

The resident fee covers all utilities except phone, a meal every day is provided, good appliances are furnished, and I have a call button for emergency use. My furniture came with me from my home, plus my sheets, towels, kitchen items and etc. Basic cleaning is done every two weeks, and repairs are done promptly as needed. People here are helpful and good about answering questions, etc... It all works out very well and my apartment is comfortable. I enjoy it.

I will soon be celebrating my 19-year anniversary here at Ohio Living Cape May. I worked in the kitchen briefly before becoming a resident assistant in the assisted living unit. After about 2 years of working as a resident assistant, I became an LPN and have remained in Assisted Living since.
During my sophomore year of high school, I knew that I wanted to become a nurse and help people. I job shadowed on the labor and delivery floor at a local hospital and hoped that one day I would be a labor and delivery nurse. It was not until I began working at Ohio Living Cape May that I realized how much I enjoyed working with older adults. Over the years I have cared for many people and it feels good to know I have, in some way or another, helped improve their quality of life. I also enjoy learning about each resident's life story and experiences. There is a lot to be told by and learned from older adults.
