Shafer/Schweitzer Apartments
Ohio Living Breckenridge Village proudly serves individuals of all income levels. The Shafer/Schweitzer house apartments overlooking scenic Ridge Road provide government-subsidized housing.
Under the regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, rent subsidy is available for individuals with income of less than $54,450 per year, or a couple whose income does not exceed $62,200 annually. (2024 guidelines)
Annual income is determined by income from assets and basic gross income (total net family assets multiplied by .06%) plus basic income. Monthly rent is generally 30 percent of total monthly income. For example, if an individual's monthly income is $500, the monthly rent would be $150. Residents also are required to purchase evening meals 5 days a week at a fee of $191 per month, per person. Residents enjoy the many social and recreational activities available throughout the campus. Additional services such as housekeeping, home health care and laundry facilities are available for a nominal fee.
