Never too late to learn something new: Warner embraces passion for watercolor art

At age 73, one of our multi-talented Ohio Living Llanfair residents, Jim, has achieved a new milestone in life: he won his first-ever award from a professionally judged art show.
Jim resides in the Belwood independent living apartments, and after his wife, Robynn, passed in May 2022, he dedicated himself to becoming as fine of an artist as he can be. He especially enjoys watercolor painting and showcasing his art locally at shows and online.
Recently, Jim won an Honorable Mention at the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society’s 2023 Art Show for his painting “Stroll on Dayton Street.” He also entered a second piece, “Afternoon at the UT” (the fountain in front of Union Terminal). Twenty artists entered 37 paintings for judging, which was led by Craig Lloyd, professor emeritus of fine art, from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. Of the submissions, three top awards were given along with six honorable mentions.
