January 2024 Employee Spotlight: Jennifer A., Human Resource Business Partner

Posted on January 20, 2024 in In The News

As the day-to-day face of HR at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant and Ohio Living Village Home Health & Hospice, our January employee of the month handles many core functions, from payroll to new hire processing as a human resource (HR) business partner. Jennifer A. takes pride in supporting all employees and hiring managers, knowing that employee satisfaction directly aligns with our organizational mission.

Jennifer’s first role with the company was as a human resource generalist at Ohio Living Llanfair in Cincinnati. In August 2020, she was promoted to an HR business partner, specifically serving Ohio Living Llanfair, Ohio Living Mount Pleasant and Ohio Living Village Home Health & Hospice. Her role became further focused on Ohio Living Mount Pleasant and Ohio Living Village Home Health & Hospicein March 2022.

“The HR department plays a crucial role, ensuring the well-being of employees and contributing to the company’s overall success,” noted Jennifer. “We work with the hiring managers to hire, retain and grow dynamic teams that enjoy working with our elderly population. It is very exciting to be part of one of the community's leading skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.”

Jennifer added, “The most rewarding part of working in HR in a skilled nursing and assisted living facility is the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of residents and their families – it is meaningful work. By improving the satisfaction of our employees, we can elevate our care and commitment to excellence, which ultimately benefits those we serve.

Outside of work, Jennifer is all about family. She and her husband have six children, two grandchildren, two dogs and two cats – all rescue animals. Traveling is another activity she enjoys. Interestingly, her family has spent extensive time in the Caribbean and Mexico.

“Being a part of the healthcare field has so many opportunities for people of all education levels,” Jennifer expressed. “One can become an STNA with a two-week class and certification or spend a couple more years in school and become a nurse. We have many employees who started with our company as a culinary server while in high school and then, moved on through their education and are now nurses and aides. It is such a blessing to work with the elderly, and a very rewarding experience to bring joy to their everyday lives through my work in HR.”
